The Paediatric Department of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) commenced as the Paediatric unit to execute its mission in 1995. Through the glorious services to children with different disabilities and their families, this unit has futuristic as the Paediatric Department of CRP to extend services to a larger number of beneficiaries in 2020.
This Department is committed to maximizing the capabilities of children with disabilities by providing evidence-based service through the collaborative efforts of Paediatric Consultants, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, and Speech and Language therapists. The children with disabilities start their journey in this department with the appropriate decision of their desired service including appropriate assistive device receiving after inclusive initial evaluation by MDT members through a proper referral from relevant sources at CRP. This department offers both inpatient and outpatient services.
Inpatient Services:
Paediatric department offer two weeks of residential inpatient services for 20 new patients each week, mostly 0 to 12 years old children with cerebral palsy and other physically challenged conditions. Besides comprehensive assessments and highly individualized physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy individual sessions for the inpatients, we deliver combined and profession-wise different types of group therapy.
