The inauguration of CRP Moulvibazar- Afsarul and Aktarul Haque Center was held on Thursday 23rd June 2022. Mir Nahid Ahsan, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Moulvibazar was present as a cheif Guest. Mr. Daichi Iwasaki, Second Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, Mohammad Zakaria, Superintendent of Police, Moulvibazar and Md Fazlur Rahman, Mayor of Moulvibazar Municipality were present as a special guest in the inauguration ceremony. Emika Prodhan was also present, the Consultant of CRP Moulvibazar Japan Embassy GGHSP Funded project. The Chairperson of this program was Muhammad Saidur Rahman, Chairman of TRP (Trust for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed). Closing Remarks was by Dr. Muhammad Sohrab Hossain, Executive Director of CRP. Also, CRP officials and dignitaries of the area were present at the event. At the end of the ceremony, the plaque of the center was unveiled by honorable guests. The ground floor of CRP Moulvibazar- Afsarul & Aktarul Haque Center was funded by Japan Embassy.
CRP has been playing a leading role in the treatment and rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities for more than 42 years. In CRP Savar and CRP Mirpur, about 15 percent of the patients come from Sylhet division. These patients will now be able to avail medical and rehabilitation services at CRP Moulvibazar Centre. CRP started its activities in 2011 in a rented house at Moulvibazar. In 2018, Mr. Afsarul and Mr. Akhtarul Haque, brothers living in the UK, provided land for the construction of the CRP’s own building at Mokambazar in Moulvibazar district.
